How does it work?

Every 15th of the month you will receive a detailed worksheet which includes exercises, ideas, prompts, links to articles, a focus on technique or an inspiring theme.   Each month there will be exercises on both prose and poetry so you can choose what to concentrate on, or do both, it’s very flexible.   After trying out some warm-ups and more focused exercises you will have the opportunity to submit two short pieces of work (a poem, flash fiction) or one longer piece (a short story), based on the exercises and tasks on the worksheet, for expert professional feedback.

How long do I have to complete my assignments?
You can submit them any time before the 15th of every month.

How much does it cost?
To subscribe costs £65 for six months and £120 for 12 months.

What if I don’t like sending my work in this way?

I also offer the same service using the postal system.   If you or anyone you know would prefer to send me work and receive the worksheets/handouts by mail then let me know and I will get in touch with to arrange this.   I also offer gift certificates if you would like to buy a subscription as a present for a friend.

What are the advantages of this system?

You can subscribe from anywhere in the world without having to leave your home.   You can do this on holiday from your tablet or i-pad so you will never miss out.   You can fit this into your busy life without having to be at a particular time and place.

Can I send more than two short pieces of work or one longer piece of work?

You can, on the understanding that you would then need to pay extra — check the mentoring section of my website.   You might decide that one-to-one mentoring would be a good occasional top-up to this course, perhaps as a way of looking at further versions of the work you have produced previously as a response to the worksheets.

I’m in!   What do I do now?

Contact me to book your place and then confirm within two weeks by cheque or bank transfer.

When does it all start?

The first worksheet will be sent out on 15thJanuary 2018 but you can subscribe at any time, so if you have a busy start to the year and want to join in May then that’s no problem.
